Construction Spacers

Shims are square pieces of high-density polyethylene plastic, used mainly as spacers in the adjustment of manhole and catchbasin grates. Structure Shims are also used as plastic washers or spacers by construction or masonry companies in many other industries: paving, curb and gutter and sewer construction, road-building, etc.

Structure Shims has created a non-shrinkable tool that is much stronger and more durable, more worker-friendly, and more ecological than the bricks, stones, steel, or even wood spacers that the industry previously used.

Shims are 47mm (1.8 inch) squares available in varying thickness (3mm, or 1⁄8 inch; to 25.2mm, or 1 inch), colour-coded for easy identification by the worker. They are packaged in lots of 50 or 100 per bag of a given thickness, or in bags of assorted shims.

Stronger

The non-shrinkable high-density polyethylene used in Structure Shims is both stronger and more durable than other materials being used, while being lightweight and easier to carry than alternatives.

Worker-Friendly

Colour-coded according to thickness, Structure Shims make it easy to pick the exact fit with a glance rather than with a ruler.
They come in convenient bags of 50 or 100 shims to meet worksite needs.

Ecological

Structure Shims don’t erode, rust, or damage the environment like other materials can – meaning they last longer on the worksite. Manufactured in Ontario, they have shorter and more resilient supply chains.
